About us
We bought Brooklynn in December 2019, knowing there was a lot of work to be done, our focus was on our goal to run a sustainable Bed and Breakfast.
We had spent many years traveling around Central America and living in the Caribbean. We were fortunate to experience so many beautiful destinations and at that time many of these islands embraced the pillars of sustainable travel. We never stayed in chain hotels, always ate local food and appreciated the nature around us. We enjoyed our time with local guides who took us to spots that was not suffering from overtourism.
Coming back home to Grantown we wanted to adopt these pillars and with help from Green Tourism we have been working towards a sustainable business. Thankfully things are changing quickly and we want our guests to experience staying in accommodation that is paying attention to environmental sustainability, e.g. focusing on reducing waste, no single use plastic, recycling and using local and organic home grown foods.
We continue to work on improving the house, closely working with locals in the community this allowing our guests to a positive travelling experience.
