Brooklynn Green Policy

We are committed to minimising the impact our business has on the environment, ensuring we operate sustainably.

Front Garden

We like to think of our front garden as being a biodiversity hotspot, with flowers in the garden as long as the weather holds, which allows a great environment for the pollinators and wildlife.

LOCAL AND HOME GROWN FOODS

Our aim is reduce food miles

We source our food locally, purchasing the fresh ingredients from local suppliers, reducing our carbon footprint.

We serve our homegrown organic fruit on the breakfast table.

We serve home baking, and our marmalade and granola are homemade.

When food is not sourced locally, we use Fairtrade products

We grow our own flowers to decorate the house to save carbon miles.

WASTE

We do not use any single-use plastics

We recycle glass, plastics, and paper, allowing our guests easy access to recycling bins.

Breakfast orders are taken the evening before, and we only cook to order, preventing food waste

We compost any garden waste and cardboard

ENERGY

Our heating and hot water are generated by renewable energy.

Brooklynn runs on fossil-free energy.

LED lighting throughout the house

WATER

Towel change on request

We collect rainwater in the garden for our greenhouses.
